Countryside Inn and Suites

I was honestly *very* nervous about staying here based on the reviews we had read. However, my husband was participating in an event being held at the nearby Mt. Orab Sports Complex, and this was the only hotel close by. Thankfully, it was not nearly as bad as we were anticipating and we ended up really enjoying our stay! For starters, we requested a ground floor room and a rollaway bed before we arrived, and were accommodated with both. It should be noted that this hotel does *not* have an elevator. Another review stated that the chlorine in the pool had a strange odor; that's because it appears to be a salt water pool. My children had a great time in the swimming pool over the 4 days we stayed at the property! The swimming pool is basic, and the hot tub pictured in many of the hotel photos is no longer there, (which disappointed my husband) but my kids still really enjoyed it, which is the main thing! Our room was fine- I believe it may be one that has already been updated. It isn't a 5 star hotel, and if you don't go in expecting it to be, the rooms will likely meet your needs. The linens were all newer and clean, as were the pillows and mattresses. The room itself was clean and no signs of mold as some reviewers experienced. The AC worked as did everything in the room. Breakfast was adequate. The buffet was small (just 4 hot items- eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy), along with bread, pre-packaged pastries, yogurts, fruit and cereal. It fit our needs. One morning, I did have to inform the Front Desk Clerk as the buffet was out of the hot items, which she quickly attended to (one day there was a dedicated breakfast attendant, but not the other days). Another day, the coffee machine wasn't working, but again, it was fixed quickly. The location is a huge plus if you need to be in Mt. Orab for some reason. It is close to fast food, a great Mexican Restaurant called Mi Camino Real, the Sports Complex, and a large Kroger. We went to Cincinnati 2 of the days we were there, and the drive was very easy. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area! Some final thoughts: the hotel was built as a Holiday Inn Express around 2001 or so. From there, it was converted into a Best Inn (I believe HIE changed requirements at some point to require elevators, which is probably one of the reasons this property lost that franchise), and then into a Best Western. I believe the Countryside Inn name may have come next. It should be noted that many of the professional photos online are of the property when it was a Best Western. The property seems to be operated by a family, with just a small handful of extra staff members. They appear to be doing their best to update/repair the hotel a little bit at a time. As you can imagine, this is a huge task. Even though the hotel is only about 23-24 years old, it has had a *rough* life, and it is clear that it was not adequately maintained for quite some time. However, the current owners seem to be trying their best to improve things and I commend their efforts. For the price per night, this is not going to be a Hilton. Go in with reasonable expectations and you won't be disappointed. You may even be pleasantly surprised as we were!

Very secluded hotel in Mt.Orab, Nivya the woman at the front counter was very helpful and nice, rooms were clean, breakfast was great, the pool was a blast. We stayed here with our kids for one night, would defenitaly come back. Thank you!

Beds are comfy breakfast is good we stay all the time it close to work and after late night horse show and sometimes after are day at kings island

The TV wasn't set up to sign in streaming access. Would've liked to watch Netflix or something other than the crap cable channels they had.

Was more than I expected from a little town hotel. Parking lot needs some love, but no nasty carpet in our room, it had laminate flooring. And it seamed very clean & no signs of bugs. Pretty painted walls. Very comfortable little love seat that folded out into a bed. Only issue we had was that we were awakened by a housekeeper keying the lock and opening the door at 9am, yelling HOUSEKEEPING, YOU CHECK OUT? Maybe you could keep a list of the rooms that people have checked out of and relay to housekeeping? Oh and the creepy old broken down van off to the side with 3 flat tires near an old broken bathtub was an eyesore as well. Kinda made me think the owners of the hotel really really care, but the manager not so much.

Very nice hotel. They are going through a remodeling project but still nice. Has a Swimming pool and offers free breakfast Breakfast could use a little bit of help. Gravy was ice cold and biscuits was hard. Had to microwave up the meal. The Only other thing that was available was cereal. Improving the quality of breakfast and adding other foods like fresh fruit, milk pastries and a waffle maker breakfast can be a great experience for the guests

Perfect hotel hookup. The room is a little dingy, but good for the price, perfect atmosphere for a quick & hot session with local tail. The service was a quick check in, and perfect in the case of leaving us alone haha. The location is nice and secluded, so we felt very private and free to do any and everything to each other ;) Sincerely, room 217 10/10

Front desk clerk was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms were nice, plenty of towels. We had a great quiet stay.
